The only thing that I may be doing that's wrong is not having a variant models category under the variant meshes category. I make sure everything is spelled correctly. I then type in the mesh found in the variant mesh category into the variants category. I have the name of the mesh as the same name as the unit I'm creating. Then, I delete the vanilla one, so only the custom mesh is left in the variant mesh defintions section. When I go into Pack File Manager, I add a random variant definition found in one of the data packs, and then I insert the custom mesh. I use the Assembly Kit tool for Rome 2 to create the definitions (I prefer being able to visualize everything while creaitng it.) Once I'm done creating the unit, I save it as a mesh definition. I'm currently getting into modding, and I'm able to make my own units and whatnot, but the mesh defintions are stumping me.
